Founding Client Success Associate
Perscient · Houston, TX or Austin, TX · Hybrid (3 days in-office)
See Through Stories
Perscient reveals AI-powered human insight into the narratives shaping markets, industries, and decisions. Our institutional products — Perscient Pro, Prism, Parallax, and Panorama — turn the noise of global news and information into signal for the people responsible for acting on it: portfolio managers and allocators, professional sports executives, financial advisors, and corporate leaders.
We're hiring a Founding Client Success Associate to be the person our clients trust most along the way.
The Role
You'll own the day-to-day experience of a growing portfolio of Perscient clients. You'll be the first call when they have a question, the steady presence guiding them through renewals, and the conduit back to our Product and Engineering teams when something needs to change.
This is a role for someone who takes genuine satisfaction in watching clients get real value from what we build — and who is willing, every day, to do the work of figuring out what that means. Because you are the founding and first team member to fulfill this role, you will get to play a significant role in carving out and designing processes, approaches, tools, and workflows for this important function within the organization.
What You'll Do
Relationship management & support
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for a book of Perscient clients spanning finance, sports, and enterprise strategy
- Respond to inbound questions, actively and proactively seek out and troubleshoot product issues, and manage escalations from first message to resolution
- Build trusted working relationships at every level of the client org — from analysts to CIOs to GMs
Renewals & retention
- Own the renewal cycle for your book of business, from the earliest signals through contract close
- Monitor account health, identify risk long before it shows up in a renewal conversation, and build the plan to address it
- Partner with leadership on pricing, packaging, and expansion decisions grounded in what you see on the ground
Product feedback loop
- Translate client conversations into clear, structured feedback for Product and Engineering
- Work directly with our Senior Product Manager to prioritize and shape the roadmap around what clients actually need
- Close the loop — tell clients what we heard, what we're building, and when it will land
Training & enablement
- Run onboarding sessions, product walkthroughs, and refresher trainings for client teams
- Build and maintain the materials — short videos, help docs, quick-start guides — that get clients to value faster and scale your impact across the book
What You Bring
- 2–4 years in a client-facing role at a SaaS, research, or data product company
- Literate and creative. Understanding narratives, stories, and the power of words – and loving the idea of talking about this stuff all day (every day) - is the single most important skill that a successful candidate will have
- Extreme comfort leveraging LLM to improve productivity and contribute to light software and front-end development
- Strong data literacy: comfortable in SQL, fluent reading dashboards, able to tell a real signal from a spurious one
- Exceptional written and verbal communication — you can hold your own with a hedge fund PM and a corporate IR or PR analyst in the same hour
- A bias toward ownership: when something is broken or unclear, you figure out how to fix it rather than pass it along
- Comfort with ambiguity and the pace of an early-stage company
- Ability to work with high degree of freedom and independence
Nice to Have
- Background in financial services or corporate communications/strategy
- Have published writing, poetry, music, art, or some other creative work
- Experience with modern analytics tools (Snowflake, Looker, Metabase, or similar) and dashboard / visualization software (Figma and Sigma both heavily in use)
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $75,000–$95,000, commensurate with experience
- Variable: Meaningful bonus tied to client renewals and book-of-business health
- Equity: Potential equity participation as you grow with the company
- Health, dental, and vision coverage
- Generous PTO and observed holidays
- Budget for learning, conferences, and the tools you need to do the job well
The Details
- Location: Houston, TX or Austin, TX
- Schedule: Hybrid — three days per week in our Houston or Austin offices, remainder flexible
- Travel: None expected; this role supports clients entirely remotely
- Reports to: Senior Product Manager
